The Beach Toys

This incredible show was started by four multi-talented musicians with a background in vocal harmony stage production. The idea was to recreate and authenticate the look and sound of a live concert, circa 1964-65, by BrianWilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson and Al Jardine. That was the spark that ignited the flame.
As the "British Invasion" hit the shores of the USA in 1964, the "Surf Sound" was being defined and then dominated by this talented quintet of musicians from the South Bay area in Los Angeles, California.
Their songs talked of fast cars, the girl next door, having fun and the forever search for the "perfect" wave. This catapulted Brian, Mike, Carl, Dennis and Al into international stardom. Their music is recognized throughout the world. Much like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, they have millions of devoted fans and new listeners of all ages that are discovering their music every day!!!
The Beach Toys have recreated the sight, sound and mannerisms of this most recognizable band. From the striped shirts and Sansabelt slacks, to the suede "Beatle Boots"and wavy hair, right down to the definitive harmonies and groundbreaking lyrics about life in California. They play the same instruments and even wear the same aftershave.
This is all lovingly recreated for devoted fans and future generations alike to enjoy.
On behalf of The Beach Toys......Surf's up!
CHRIS HILLIARD as Al Jardine
An accomplished guitarist and vocalist, Chris brings the role of Al Jardine alive both on stage and off.
Chris hails from the Inland Empire, and has been involved in music all of his life. A major fan of both The Beatles and The Beach Boys, Chris has studied the intricate vocals and correct chording which made each of these groups recognizable.
Along with the dedication of music, Chris is a true showman as well. His stature and stage presence is just like seeing and hearing Al live in concert.
BOB MOORE as Carl Wilson
Bob brings the role of Carl Wilson to life with his surf rockin' style of
lead guitar playing and soaring vocals.
Bob is a much sought after studio musician in the Los Angeles area and has played with many top artists on tour such as: Amy Grant, Peter Cetera (Chicago), The Righteous Brothers, Barry Manilow, and many more. Bob loves the music from the 60's. His straightforward approach to the "West Coast Surf" music scene is exciting to watch and hear.
Bob is a schooled guitarist of over 25 years and spent several years
performing on the Merv Griffin Show as his guitarist.
GLENN HENRY as Brian Wilson
Another Southern California native, Glenn has over 22 years of professional singing and playing recording experience, including the recording project "The Strand" with the late Jeff Pocaro of the 70's hit band TOTO. In addition, Glenn has played with many Los Angeles based club and touring bands such as: Freeze, Graffiti, Backstreet, The Rhythm Kings and the in house band for ARROW RADIO, "Haight Ashbury".
Glenn studied piano at the early age of 10 and has played guitar since the age of 8. With the need for a bassist in his junior high school band, Glenn switched to bass and has been playing ever since. Glenn studied voice with Phyllis Zimmerman. In college, he continued to study the bass with L.A. session greats: Jeff Takaguchi and Herb Mickman.
Glenn's groove oriented bass playing can be heard on several jingles along with numerous CDs to include The Paper Bridegroom soundtrack.
Glenn truly recaptures the look and sound of the great Brian Wilson. Glenn has been a Beach Boys fan since the mid-1960's when he first heard the melodic surf music while surfing and growing up in Santa Barbara, California.
Glenn has even has the opportunity to open for the Beach Boys in 1999 with Haight Ashbury.
MIKE MOYNAHAN as Mike Love
As a native Southern Californian, Mike spent much of his youth cruising
Newport Beach to the cool sounds of The Beach Boys. A showbiz veteran of over 20 years, Mike has managed to build a successful career as a musician and actor. Mike can be seen on TV everyday co-starring with Ben Vereen in the Emmy Award-winning children's show ZOOBILEE ZOO. He has appeared in over a hundred national commercials and has had roles in such films as BODY SLAM, THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, ACTS OF LOVE and most recently THE COMMISSION starring Martin Landau and Corbin Bernsen. With an extensive background in
live theatre, Mike has performed on Broadway and in regional theaters all
across the U.S. and Canada.
Mike's music career has also kept him very busy. He comes from a long line of musicians that stretches way back to Ireland. As a trumpet player, Mike has teamed up with two of his five brothers to create the cool, funky,
groove band HOUSE BREW. The Moynahan brothers have also recorded with numerous big names in the industry and even enjoyed a number of weeks on Billboard's Top 20 with their hit re-make of I'LL TAKE YOU THERE with GENERAL PUBLIC.
Mike not only recreates Mike Love's lead vocals impeccably, he is also
enjoying the challenge of providing some of those memorable and complex keyboard parts that make the later Beach Boys material so distinct. After many years as a vocalist in groups ranging from Classical to Barbershop to 50's Doo-Wop, Michael says he is compelled to sing more contemporary styles of music. Congratulations Mike, you've made it to the 60's.
