Christopher Loid

At the age of three Christopher Loid was singing in front of the congregation at Stillwater Hill Community Church near Seattle, Washington. His introduction to music came from his mother who traveled and sang with the Lighthouse Singers. At a very young age Chris knew he was destined to sing for the rest of his life. He had a natural ability to interact and engage his audience without fear or hesitation.

Growing up Chris listened to a wide spectrum of music that ranged from Ray Charles to Willie Nelson, but his heart belonged to country music. As a young teen in a small eastern Washington town, Chris began to create his own singing style, practicing for hours all of his favorite songs.

When Chris turned fifteen he got his first sound system and started singing for anybody who would listen, from retirement homes to semi pro baseball and hockey games. A year later Chris sang at his first club in Hermiston, Oregon. He began to work in clubs on the weekends during his high school years and made a pretty good income for a kid that still lived at home.

Chris' father made it possible for him to take a trip to Nashville where he met Sid Singleton, son of Shelby Singleton, the owner of Sun Records. Sid was positive about Chris' vocal performance but also talked about the importance of having original material. He encouraged Chris to try his hand at song writing. Feeling optimistic Chris returned home and began learning how to write songs. He had an opportunity to go to Austin, Texas where he learned a lot about the ins and outs of the music business, but eventually decided that Texas wasn't the right fit for him. Chris returned home and later married the love of his life--Cary Lynn.

In 2004 Chris decided with the blessing of his wife to move to Portland, Oregon so he could further his career. Two months after the move Chris achieved his goal of a recording contract and released two singles that gave him a number one hit and a top ten hit on two local independent radio charts.
Chris continues to work clubs and large venues across the Northwest and has gained a large fan base. He now has new management and a new perspective on his career. He is currently working on a new album and has a promising new future ahead of him.
